I am already starting to think about summer singing plans!

I am planning on us singing again at the park and am excited to gather the music. Before I put together my times I want to look at how many returning and new students I will have, 3 years old and up! I am tentatively planning on having lessons once to twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday morning starting the beginning of June through July 24th. Please let me know within the next couple of weeks (by e-mail) what you plan to do for summer singing.


As a reminder we sing a variety: classical, jazz, pop, and musical theater and play drama games


Group Lesson- small group classes, learn singing techniques, harmonies and fun new music
(Younger- 30 minutes ($7), Boys- 45 minutes ($9), Older Girls- 1 hour ($10)

Private Lessons- 30 minute solo lessons, work on technique and new material ($13.50each) Private Lessons- offered for returning private students or girls 13 and older and boys 10 and older. Lessons are being offered for adults too.

Hi Singing Families!

It's time to start our Fall lessons.
Here are the details:

Fall Semester is 15 lessons long ending with our recital-Monday December 17th -(go ahead and mark it :-)
Lessons start the week of August 20th. All classes are taught at my home in my studio. 2351 N. 1000 E.
Each class is full, but if you know of a friend or another child who is interested- have them contact me. I can put them on a waiting list.

Boys Class- Monday 4:00-4:45
Girls Older Class- Tuesday 4:00-5:00
Junior Class- Thursday 4:00-4:30

During each class we will concentrate on... having fun! Also, we will learn proper singing techniques, have fun with drama, learn rhythms, and how to interpret and read music.
I have a teaching assistant this year who will be helping me with my Junior Class- Madison. She is wonderful, and will be a great help to me :-)
Just as a reminder, with small group classes more time is given to the individual singer. Please take advantage of that and be to each class.
Each student will have a binder and a practice cd. For those who are reading, you need to bring your folder every week.

Tuition is:
Junior- $90
Boys - $120
Older Girls- $150

If you pay in full during the first week there is a $5 discount
Family discount for siblings- $10 discount off semester tuition
If you want to pay monthly, just let me know.. I have it separated into 4 monthly payments

Sing On!- HOLLY BARRICK

Although fall classes are still a couple months away I thought I would update you on the status of my classes.

After a lot of thought I have decided to change Center Stage Music classes starting this fall. I will be offering small group vocal classes for children and private lessons for all ages, but will no longer have the show choir classes.

This means I will be teaching a substantially smaller group of people. I think this will be great for many reasons. First of all, my love for the individual performer and their talent can be molded easier with more time spent one on one and directly with the piano. Secondly, I will have more time to be the Children's Director for Cedar Valley Community Theatre's upcoming show "Annie", that will be auditioning this fall.

As I looked at my schedule, and that of my family, this change fit better. This means that although I will still be helping produce "Annie", the children roles will be open to whoever auditions through CVCT. You will soon be able to find audition and other information through the website www.cedartheatre.org.

What I will be teaching:
I will be offering a few (probably 3) group vocal classes for children with around 5-6 students. During the group vocal we will learn things such as: vocal techniques, sing broadway, jazz, pop, classical, theory, and harmonies. We will also work on our performing skills as we sing for each other and upcoming venues. Most group classes will be an hour, but will depend on the age of the singers.

Private lessons are for the dedicated singer who is required to practice every day. There is currently a waiting list, but please let me know if you are interested and I will put your name down.

Because I am cutting the number of students to teach in half, please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to be put down for fall classes.

When: During class. If you can come 10 minutes early to class, do!

What to wear: wear performance clothes. Because we will be taking a class picture I need everyone dressed in performance clothes, whether or not you decide to get individuals.

Older Girls- sparkle shirt, black pants, black socks, black shoes, NEW headband

Boys- black shirt, red tie, black pants, black socks and shoes.

Younger Girls- white plain shirt, tutu, NEW headband, black leggings/pants, black shoes and socks

About picture time: I insist on trying to keep fees to a minimum, so I asked Anjali to take our pictures. She will only be charging $5 plus the Wal-Mart print price. Anjali is not a professional, but an incredible photographer!

I want every child in the picture so please e-mail me back now so I know that you got this message. I hate to call every house, but I don't want anybody missed.

Class Resumes

Alright everybody-

We are going to have so much fun this semester. We will be doing music from the musicals "Oliver" and "Into the Woods." Other songs include: a Beatles Medley, Jackson 5 Medley, and Disney songs. Come ready to go- we've got a lot to learn! :-)

CONCERT WEEK!!!

Hi Everyone,

I can't imagine that anyone has forgotten that it is Concert Week! So here is a reminder of scheduling. It is mandatory that your child is to their class and dress rehearsal! (All singing and speaking solos shall be memorized by their class time.)

Tuesday- class as usual
Wednesday- class as usual
Friday- DRESS REHEARSAL 4-6 Canyon View Middle School auditorium (They do not need to be in their costume)
Saturday: Canyon View Middle School Auditorium performers call time is 11:30 sharp
CONCERT STARTS AT 12! It's free, with children it's always entertaining- so invite anyone who would be interested in watching your little star perform.

Staging Rehearsal

Reminder that regular class for everyone is the Staging Rehearsal tomorrow, Tuesday 29th from 4-6. This is at the LDS Fiddlers Canyon Stake church (by CVHS on Main Street, east door). Parents please promptly drop and pick up at those times. (The younger class should be done at 5:45 if you want to come check then. They'll probably be tired :-) Oh!- we'll be on the stage.

Thanks to everyone who came to the Craft Fair. They were cute and it was fun! If anyone has pictures they don't mind sharing, e-mail them to me.

Hi Everyone,

Here are some reminders about the Talon Craft Fair and other dates and such:-)

Class this week as usual (please make sure they are there as this will be their last rehearsal before we sing on Saturday)

The remainder of costumes will be handed out at class this week. Please make sure old costumes and bows are located and fit. Also, make sure that you have your portion of the costume (black socks, shoes, pants).

Saturday November 19th 11am - meet by/at the wrestling room in costume

I am counting on ALL students (unless previously discussed) being there. This is important as there are solos and speaking parts!

Tuesday November 29th 4-6pm BIG GROUP CLASS STAGING (in place of regular class) at the Fiddlers Canyon Stake Center.

Here's a monthly review and heads up.

The kids are doing great. I am amazed at watching their progress. I love seeing the "aha" moment when they get a dance step, sing a harmony, and deliver a line perfectly! Please remind them to use the bathroom before class.

November 29th 4-6: Stage rehearsal -This is new. We will be having a practice on the Fiddlers Stake Center stage. This will BE CLASS for the week.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Saturday December 10th 12pm
The concert is free and all family and friends are invited. Tell them now :-)

Center Stage Music, will have an official Registration day on Tuesday August 9th from 5-6pm at the studio. Registration that day is first come first serve. Classes are for girls and boys ages 4yrs-6th grade.

Classes are filling up and there are limited openings. If you are interested, please e-mail me with your questions or intentions.

Also, something new that I am offering this year is ONE half hour private singing lesson during the semester for $10. I will set those times up later, just let me know when you register if you are interested.
